Apple Vision Pro Mixed Reality Experience — Burj Khalifa

Concept Development

The idea was inspired by the growing influence of mixed reality and futuristic product experiences in digital media.The concept focused on transforming a familiar real-world location into an immersive digital environment by introducing a virtual product element. By placing Apple Vision Pro in one of the world’s most recognizable locations, the project aimed to create a premium, futuristic, and cinematic visual experience.

 

The creative direction was focused on:

 

Realistic CGI integration

 

Seamless interaction between physical and digital space

 

Cinematic presentation suitable for social media

Production Workflow

The entire project followed a complete VFX workflow, starting from footage preparation to the final social media output.

The first stage involved planning the visual approach and preparing the elements required for the mixed reality composition.

The process started by selecting the background footage and analyzing the environment.

Key considerations included:

  • Camera movement
  • Perspective and depth
  • Placement of the 3D object
  • Lighting conditions
  • Visual style for short-form content

Since the final output was designed for social media platforms, the composition and pacing were planned specifically for a vertical 10–12 second format to create maximum visual impact.

Camera Tracking & Match Moving

The next stage was recreating the real camera movement inside a 3D environment.

The footage was imported into Adobe After Effects, where camera tracking was performed to analyze the movement and generate a matching 3D camera.

This process allowed the virtual 3D elements to follow the same perspective and motion as the original footage.

During tracking, several challenges were faced, including:

  • Limited tracking information in certain areas
  • Low contrast surfaces
  • Lack of enough visual reference points

Additional adjustments were required to achieve accurate camera movement and a realistic integration.


3D Integration & Animation

After completing the camera tracking process, the tracked camera data was used to integrate the 3D element into the scene.

The Apple Vision Pro 3D asset was brought into Blender for 3D positioning, animation, and rendering.

The process included:

  • Matching the 3D object with the real environment
  • Adjusting scale and perspective
  • Creating smooth animation
  • Refining the movement to make the object feel naturally placed in the scene

The focus was to make the CGI element appear as if it existed physically within the real-world footage.

The final stage focused on combining all elements and creating the final cinematic output.

The rendered 3D animation was composited with the original footage using Adobe After Effects.

The post-production process included:

  • CGI and live footage compositing
  • Visual adjustments
  • Color correction and grading
  • Final look development
  • Music and sound mixing
  • Final export optimization

The final video was formatted specifically for social media platforms, ensuring the content was visually strong and engaging in a short-form vertical format.
